Halma Board Game Rules
Halma is a game for two to four players and is played on an Halma Board. The object of the game is to move the playing pieces across the board into the yard opposite.
Two players: Each player takes nineteen pieces and sets them up in corners that are diagonally opposite each other, inside the blue border (known as the large yard)
Four players: Each player takes thirteen pieces and sets them up in a corner inside the red border (known as the Small Yard)
Players alternate in moving one of their pieces one square at a time in any direction, but not diagonally(players may use all squares) Players may also jump over their own or rival playing pieces providing there is a vacant space directly beyond. However jumped pieces are not removed. The winner is the first person to fufill the object of the game see above.
Four players may also double up to form two teams. The two sets of two players star diagonally opposite and the first team to exchange yards wins.
